WHY DO YOU SNORE??
Physicians have been able to provide an educated guess on what causes a person to snore while asleep. They’re able to guess during clinic visits when the patient is breathing just fine. But it isn’t 100 percent accurate That’s where a unique procedure called sedated endoscopy comes into play. Through Twilight anesthesia, the patient is forced into asleep.
When a patient starts obstructing or snoring a fiber optic endoscope is passed through the nose and into the throat where all areas of vibration and or obstruction are taken note of.
It is only at this point the reason behind the snore is accurate and a treatment plan is made for the patient.
A small number of patients snoring may be due to nasal obstruction. procedures such as a septoplasty and/or terminate reduction ( “This is a procedure in which a needle-like instrument is inserted into the turbinate and energy is transmitted to the tissue to cause a controlled damage, so by the time healing process occurs, the turbinates will heal”).
These procedures may be helpful.
• A very common source of snoring is due to vibration of the soft palate or very long uvula.
Treatment for this may include -removing the uvula. The uvula, the tongue itself or even the back of the tongue can also vibrate causing a an obstruction and/or a snore.
• Being overweight or much fat can actually aid in snoring. I don’t mean to bodyshame but Fatty tissue and poor muscle tone can contribute to snoring. Even if you’re not overweight in general, carrying excess weight just around your neck or throat can cause snoring. Exercising and losing weight can sometimes be all it takes to end your snoring.
• Body Built.
Men have narrower air passages than women and they are more likely to snore. A narrow throat, enlarged adenoids, and a cleft palate can result to snoring. Other physical attributes that also contribute.
• The tongue can be a cause of snoring. When the tongue falls in the direction of the red arrow, narrowing results and mucosal vibration resulting in a snore.
Treatment towards addressing the tongue as a source of snoring include- mandibular advancement devices, tongue advancement, or base of tongue reduction.
• Nasal problems like the sinus infection.
Blocked airways and a blocked can make inhalation difficult and create a vacuum in the throat which leads to snoring.
• A final source of a snore can come from the voice box itself.
When the mucosal folds above the vocal cords (Retina) and collapse into the airway which causes a vibration. Hence, causing a snore.
If such structures are the source of a snore, they can be trimmed surgically. It is entirely possible that there are multiple areas that obstruct and vibrate in which case multiple procedures can be used to resolve a person snore. However, one can simply guess what to do or undergo a sedated endoscopy and figure out what is causing this norm or obstruction and treat it accordingly.
I'm glad to say that this is a fascinating post. I took in new data about snore, you are working really hard. A debt of gratitude is in order for sharing this sort of blog. Anti Snoring Devices Australia
