How to Prime a Canvas
No one can use an unprimed canvas without hating and detesting painting.
You can find already primed canvases in art stores but most artists prefer to prime their own canvases the way the want.
Now it is not only important to prime a Canvas but it’s the only way to make any form of painting using a canvas.
While considering priming a canvas, there are materials.
You must have a big size brixil brush, subsequent amount of Gesso( bought or home made) and sandpaper if necessary.
How to prime a Canvas
•Place your properly constructed canvas on a surface (tabke-like surface).
•Make Sure your Gesso is properly sealed, Use A brixil brush to coat the canvas with your Gesso. The first time usually requires more amount of Gesso, so don’t be stingy with the Gesso.
•Use a scrapper to smoothen the surface of the gessoed canvas (while still dry)
•Let dry for couple of hours. (First time usually takes more time).
•Use sandpaper to smoothen the canvas (If necessary).
•Repeat Priming again
•Repeat for the third time if necessary.
