What you need to know about the planet humans wants to colonise —
Everything you need to know.
Mars is the closest planet to Earth and by far the most liveable planet in the entire solar system.Mars is also known as the Red planet.
Nasa has engaged in so many projects to study mars. The first Rover which sent to Mars is the Mars3 rover in Dec 2, 1971.This Rover was the first man-made object to make a soft landing on Mars. It transmitted data back to earth for just 14.5 seconds before going quiet. Till today no one knows what happened to it.

Second mission to mars was the Viking1 lander- This lander was responsible for a clearer picture of mars in July 1976.

On this mission the scientists carried out an experiment called the Labelled Release.
* in this experiment, they took a scope of soil from Mars and a dilute solution of nutrients was added to the soil. Radioactive carbon dy oxide was found in the soil after the experiment. This is a positive result.
Viking 11 lander got same positive result.
Since then, scientists in Nasa have been looking for more trace of life in Mars. Anything that can make Mars habitable. Things like water, microscopic bacterias or bio-signatures that can prove to us mars ones had life on it.
Bio-signatures are patterns or substance in a rock that can only be formed by life.
This 2020 Nasa has launched a new project to study Mars more. Nasa with the help of the government, private companies, the government and individuals like —Elon Musk(CEO spaaceX)are doing their best on the mission to search for life on mars.
A Rover would be sent to Mars by July 2020. This one’s different from others. It was built in enhancements on the abilities of it’s ancensors.
This 2020 Rover has cutting edge technologies with so many tools. The Rover ehrn it gets to mars will need to drilling samples from rocks.
They need to take core samples.37 different tubes about the size of a piece of chalk. The mars 2020 is different from other past missions to mars because Nasa Will have to go back to return these samples.
The samples when brought would be sent to scientists all over the world to test.Different
techniques will be used to these core samples. Some technique have not even been invented.
Another Tool the Rover will have a device known as Pixil. The pixil will use X-ray spectrometry to try detect chemical elements with spectral resolutions that goes down to the size of a salt.

The Rover will have a helicopter fly around mars, getting data, but for a short duration.
The helicopter has a built in capabilities needed for the operation in mars, including solar cells to charge it’s lithiumous batteries, and a heating mechanism to keep it warm through the cold nights in mars.
Vandi Verma Phd (Robotics technologists in Nasa jet lab) gave a good tutorial on how the Rover
will work. “Because of the radiation in mars, we had to use computers that are radiation hardened to develop the 2020 Rover.
Dr Vandi Verma has worked 11 yearss on mars Rovers and Landers in Nasa. She also mentioned how they will monitor the activities of tthe 2020 rover from earth. “We even have softwares on our phones, so we can quickly get summaries whenever the Rover picks up data.
She’s so uptomistic that Humans will one day colonize Mars as soon as 2027.
Why should we Live in Mars?
For the human race to survive, we need to live beyond our mother-planet (earth). Scientists believes that it is possible that one single asteroid can wipe the entire earth at once.
It would be terrible for everything we have achieved as humans get destroyed.

Water —-
There’s huge amount of ice underneath mars but most of them are iced up.
