Similarities between Comedy and Tragedy
Comedy and Tragedy might be different in many ways. So are their similarities.. Here are some similarities between them:-
- They are both Drama/Play- Comedy and Tragedy are both considered a dramatic genre, they both possess the characteristics of a Drama/Play.
- They are both performed on a stage- This is another similarity to consider. Both Comedy and Tragedy are performed on a stage with the appropriate settings.
- Audience: This is another important similarity between a comedy and Tragedy. They both have audience wether a targeted audience or random audience.
- Stir up Emotions: Comedy and Tragedy share the same characteristics of stirring up emotions of the audience. This is the most important as their sole intention is to get their audience emotional.
- They both have Cast/Performers/Characters: Both Comedy and Tragedy have characters used to convey messages in a literary piece.
- They both have a beginning and definitely an end: Every Comedy or Tragedy has a beginning where the literary work starts and they definitely come to an end.
- Comedies and Tragedies are initially written down by a writer/author. This initial piece is called a manuscript.
- Both comedy and Tragedy fulfills the main attributes of a literary work.. they both educate and entertain their audience.
